Finding the right vehicle for your family can be a complicated endeavour. During your search, you will need to factor in many elements including safety and comfort. While some cars prioritise certain features over others, there are still some remarkable people-movers that manage to be the total package. Incredibly spacious and easy to drive, the Opel Zafira Life is a big family van made up of many first-rate facets. If you still haven’t discovered the perfect vehicle for your loved ones, this very well might be the ideal choice.
On The Road
We spent our time with the Business Elegance 2.0TD AT model and the first thing that we noticed was its sheer size. This will be discussed more a little later in the review but the length of this people-mover is felt as soon as you start the engine. Despite this, the vehicle delivers an effortless journey due to its responsive handling and tall windows (that ensure a complete view of the road). Furthermore, it has a robust weight to it that allows for a feeling of complete safety.
It, unfortunately, does take a second to get off the starting line but it quickly manages to reach a speed that is surprising for its category. During every journey, the suspension of the Opel Zafira Life is extremely smooth and you will often forget that you are driving a vehicle this big. However, when it comes to parking, its dimensions do become abundantly clear.
On The Inside and Outside
The external design of the Opel Zafira Life offers a feeling of strength that manages to still maintain a modern throughline. The 17-inch alloys benefit its powerful character too and act as a simple element that complements the outside of the vehicle quite well. From within, the panoramic roof and comfortable seats make this a family van that your children may not want to exit. For the person behind the wheel, Driver Support and Collision Warning systems provide a lot of safety value. Another nice addition is the heads up display that projects vital information onto your windscreen, a small touch that further bolsters a trouble-free experience.
In terms of the infotainment display, it is fairly basic but the rearview camera works well when you are in tight spots. Touched on earlier, there is a lot of space to be used in the Opel Zafira. You can fit 7 people easily and still have room for luggage in the back. Although, a decently sized centre console is one feature that we wish was present.

Final Thoughts
At R869 900, the Opel Zafira Life Business Elegance 2.0TD AT doesn’t come cheap. While it is certainly worth this price tag, its potential as your future vehicle all depends on your budget. During our time with the vehicle, we found it to be quite exceptional as it certainly ticks many of the boxes required for an efficient family van.
